Diana Lopez is the Principal Trumpet of the Sarasota Orchestra and a Bach Artist. Originally from Colombia, she earned a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Lynn University Conservatory of Music and completed an Advanced Certificate in Orchestral Studies with The Orchestra Now at Bard College. Her principal teachers include Marc Reese, Benjamin Wright, Thomas Rolfs, and David Griffin.

Before joining the Sarasota Orchestra, Ms. Lopez performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Jacksonville Symphony, Fulcrum Point New Music Project, 3rd Coast Brass, and served as Principal Trumpet of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. She began her professional career in Colombia with the Bogotá Philharmonic Band and has also performed with the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.

In addition to performing, Ms. Lopez is the founder of the Women's Brass Association of Colombia (Fembrass), a network of more than 100 female brass musicians across Latin America dedicated to education, mentorship, and professional development. She is also a frequent guest artist and clinician, presenting masterclasses and educational programs for young musicians.
